IOWA  --  Iowa college students may have to go even deeper in debt to afford tuition next year.

The State Board of Regents already approved a 2% increase and is now proposing another 3% hike. This would increase tuition by $216 per student at all three state universities.

The increase follows $31 million in state funding cuts this year.
