Three More Arrests Made in Death of Sabrina Ray

ADEL, Iowa  --  Three more arrests have been made in connection with the death of Sabrina Ray and the alleged abuse of her siblings.

Sixty-two-year-old Carla Raye Bousman, Sabrina's adoptive grandmother, was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with child endangerment resulting in death, kidnapping and obstruction of justice.  A criminal complaint states she took part in the abuse of Sabrina Ray.

Twenty-one-year-old Justin Ray, Sabrina's adooptive brother was also arrested Wednesday. He faces charges of child endangerment serious injury, child endangerment bodily injury, and willful injury. A criminal complaint says "between the dates of April 15, 2017 and May 1, 2017, the Defendant "drop-kicked" Sabrina Lynn Ray down the basement staircase, causing her to land on the basement floor. Sabrina Lynn Ray suffered serious injury and was unable to walk, talk, eat or drink in her normal fashion following that act."

Twenty-year-old Josie Bousman, Sabrina's cousin, was also arrested and charged with Kidnapping and Child Endangerment Resulting in Death.  Police say she, too, helped in the confinement and torture of Sabrina and her two sisters and moved the three girls around to avoid detection.

Marc and Misty Ray are each charged with multiple counts of child endangerment and child neglect after their 16-year-old adopted daughter Sabrina was found dead in their home earlier this month.  Police say she weighed just 56 pounds at the time of her death.  Marc and Misty Ray were not home at the of Sabrina's death.  Police have not said who was at home with her and her siblings when she died.  The other children in the home have been removed and are in the care of the Department of Human Services.
