I’m a graduate of Buena Vista University but grew up in northeast Iowa and spent my summers in northern Minnesota. I love spending time outdoors and playing for the Des Moines Women’s Rugby Club.

    Police Believe Medical Issue Caused Morning Crash

    DES MOINES, Iowa – Police are investigating a one vehicle accident that happened Friday morning just off of MLK Parkway. The accident was called in around 7:20 a.m. on Post Avenue, which is near the intersection of MLK Parkway and Euclid Avenue.     DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police are investigating an early morning stabbing. It happened just after 2:30 Thursday morning in the 1700 block of Southeast First Street.     Drive-By Shooting Reported in Des Moines

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that happened early Monday morning. It happened just after midnight at 1st and East Sheridan. Police say a vehicle was shot at and the driver suffered minor injuries from breaking glass. The suspect’s name has not been released but police say they did locate the vehicle believed to be involved and it has been impounded. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

    Motorcyclist, Passenger Seriously Injured in Crash

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Two people were seriously injured in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle Sunday afternoon. The accident happened just before 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hubbell and Guthrie. Police say a motorcycle was traveling southbound on Hubbell when it collided with a northbound car trying to turn west onto Guthrie.
