I'm a graduate of Buena Vista University but grew up in northeast Iowa and spent my summers in northern Minnesota. I love spending time outdoors and playing for the Des Moines Women's Rugby Club.

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa Workforce Development says though the number of working Iowans went down in May, the rate of unemployment held steady from the previous month.     I-80 Bridge Repair Means Detour

    WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Traffic will be detoured on part of Interstate 80 in West Des Moines over the weekend. Crews are repairing a bridge on eastbound I-80 at the west mixmaster. Friday night, the Iowa DOT closed the eastbound ramp to northbound I- 35/80. The ramp should open by 5:00 Monday morning. Until then, drivers will be detoured around construction on I-235.
