    JACKSON COUNTY, Iowa – A toddler pulled from a swimming pool in Jackson County Monday has now died. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 1 ½-year-old Nxy Jones died Tuesday at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Jones was unresponsive after being found in a swimming pool Monday.     Iowa’s June Unemployment Rate Decreases

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowa’s unemployment rate has made another decline. According to Iowa Workforce Development, June’s unemployment rate dropped a tenth of a point to 3.7-percent from May’s 3.8-percent. IWD Director Beth Townsend says, “As the low unemployment trend continues, encouraging gains are being seen in the retail sector; the business establishment survey added 3,000 retail jobs this month.     Jury Reaches Verdict in Hot Lotto Fraud Trial

    DES MOINES, Iowa — A Polk County jury has reached a verdict in the case of a former Iowa Lottery vendor accused of rigging a Hot Lotto drawing in 2010. Eddie Tipton is charged with two counts of fraud. Prosecutors say he used his knowledge of lottery computer systems to fix a $16 million jackpot drawing.     DES MOINES, Iowa — The Blank Park Zoo says an age related illness forced led them to humanely euthanize Amur tiger Goldy after her quality of life deteriorated.     ORLANDO, Florida — An Orlando Police Department officer was run over by a car during a traffic stop Monday.     CORALVILLE, Iowa — The man accused in the shooting death of a woman at the Coral Ridge Mall last month has entered a not guilty plea. Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Kozak of North Liberty is charged with first degree murder. Police say he shot 20-year-old Andrea Farrington in the back three times on June 12th.     DES MOINES, Iowa – A fire at a Des Moines homeless camp Wednesday morning appears to have been set deliberately.
