I’m a graduate of Buena Vista University but grew up in northeast Iowa and spent my summers in northern Minnesota. I love spending time outdoors and playing for the Des Moines Women’s Rugby Club.

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police are investigating a report of a home invasion overnight. Officers were called to an apartment at 933 18th Street at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.     Arrest Made in Cedar Rapids Motel Murder

    CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Police are investigating a murder at a motel in Cedar Rapids. Officers received reports of a stabbing at the Ced Rel Motel Monday morning. They found 23-year-old Jimmi Jon Lint, of Mount Auburn, with multiple wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Forty-seven-year-old Michael Lehman is in custody and charged with first degree murder. There is no word on his motive for the stabbing.

    DES MOINES, Iowa — Survey crews with the National Weather Service will return to Iowa Friday to determine how many tornadoes touched down in the state on Wednesday.     DES MOINES, Iowa — No injuries were reported in an accident involving an ambulance in Des Moines Tuesday morning, but the crash did cause some traffic delays.     DES MOINES, Iowa — The Polk County Sheriff’s Department is releasing more information about a deadly shooting that happened outside of a nightclub over the weekend.
