• I grew up in Wisconsin but have lived in 6 states. Wisconsin, Massachusetts (briefly), California, North Dakota, Washington and Iowa.

• I wanted to be a Barbie designer when I was little

• I grew up in Wales, Wisconsin and was frequently asked why I don’t have a british accent.

• My news crush is Brian Williams

• I like every kind of music. Classical to rap, I love it all.

• I adopted my dog, Ozzy, from the Animal Rescue League after he came to the station for a Today in Iowa

• I played soccer from the time I was 6 through high school

• I was voted most fun to be with in middle school, wait for it, by the teachers

• I was a band geek. I played French horn from 5th grade through my freshman year in college

• I went to four different universities. UW-Stout, UW-Green Bay, UW-Whitewater and Minot State.

• I climbed the High Skyline Trail on Mt. Rainier

• I really am a morning person. My mood gradually declines until I’m a grouch by the evening.

• I love shoes!!

Jenny joined the Channel 13 News Team in December 2007. She began working as a news producer, producing Today in Iowa Saturday and Sunday and serving as an associate producer for Today in Iowa. She is now tackling the role of Multimedia Journalist.

Jenny came to the station after taking a hiatus from television news to raise her children. Prior to her hiatus she worked as a reporter and anchor at KXMC in Minot, North Dakota.

In her free time Jenny likes to spend time with her kids, David, Drew and Peyton, walk her dog and shop for shoes.

  • RAMP CLOSES: I-235 Construction Project

    Drivers heading westbound on Interstate 235 will have fewer exiting options after an overnight shutdown. The closure of the 73rd Street exit in Windsor Heights will cause some traffic problems for the next two months. Early Tuesday morning crews closed the westbound ramp. It is expected to remain closed until sometime in October. Construction began on westbound I-235 between 63rd and 73rd streets back in April.   • CRASH VIDEO: Tony Stewart Hurt In Oskaloosa

    One of NASCAR’s biggest names is in an Iowa hospital after a crash at an Oskaloosa track Monday night. Stewart was leading the 30-lap Front Row Challenge at the Southern Iowa Speedway when he got caught up in a four car crash. Stewart’s business manager Eddie Jarvis said Stewart was alert and talking when he was taken off the track on a stretcher.     Des Moines Police are investigating an overnight shooting in the Drake Neighborhood that sent one person to the hospital. Police were called to the area of 22nd and University Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on reports of shots fired. Police began checking the scene and found a victim at 22nd and Carpenter.   • OVERNIGHT FIRE: Two Homes Destroyed

    Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early morning fire that destroyed two homes in Ankeny Tuesday morning. Crews were called to 2480 and 2470 Summer Park Drive at 1:58 a.m. When they arrived they found two homes and a garage on fire. Lieutenant Mark Dooley with the Ankeny Fire Department says there were eight people in the homes, but all were able to get out safely.  It is not known if the homes has smoke detectors. […]

  • SUSPECT ARRESTED: Marshall County Death

    A Marshalltown man is in jail charged with murder. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation arrested 40-year-old Mathew Irving around 9 p.m. Tuesday. Irving is charged with first degree murder for the death of 55-year-old Rebecca Hall of Marshalltown. Hall was found dead inside a parked van Sunday morning.
