Midwest Banana Custard (Sweet Treats Unlimited)

4oz – Cream Cheese, softened
8oz Sour Cream
2/3 cup of Milk
8oz – Cool Whip Topping (2 cups)
5 – Banana’s (large)
1 pkg. (5.1oz) Jell-O Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 box of Vanilla Wafers
1 cup of chopped walnuts
1 cup of Baker’s dipping chocolate


Beat cream cheese until creamy. Then add sour cream, milk, & pudding mixing well. Add the 2 cups of whip topping and beat for 30seconds until well blended. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile slice bananas, warm up the dipping chocolate & place all the cookies on a serving platter for easy access.

Remove custard from fridge and scoop one cup of mix into the bottom of the trifle bowl. Then add slice bananas and cookies in a circular pattern starting from the outer sides of the bowl working your way to the center. Sprinkle some nuts and then with the tips of a fork drizzle chocolate over the layer. Repeat all layers.

When you get to the last layer leave a saucer size circle in the middle. Fill the center with whip topping or piped whipping cream.

This recipe is great for any party or Sunday dinner.

Tips & Tricks:
Custard can be colored to fit your event or holiday. For Halloween you can color the custard orange or for Easter you can do neon yellow. * ONLY USE GEL COLORS*

On Halloween you can dip all the cookies in chocolate and have a festive color dish along with the orange custard.

**This recipe can be enjoyed also as a low calorie dish, just replace all the ingredients with reduce creams, fat free milk, sugar free pudding, sugar free cookies & omit the chocolate. **
