DEADLY CRASH: One Killed Near Fort Dodge

One person is dead following a Wednesday morning accident near Fort Dodge.

The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened around 8:00 a.m. on County Road P-59. A northbound pickup truck crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a car head on. The driver of the car, 68-year-old Katheryn Duley of Clarinda, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck, 17-year-old Patrick Oberg of Otho, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

Traffic had to be routed off of P-59 for about two hours as the scene was cleaned up.

Investigators are still looking into what may have caused the crash.
