The House Appropriations Committee passed a bill that would outlaw traffic cameras -- paving the way for a debate before the full House.
The bill passed mostly along party lines with Republicans supporting it and Democrats opposing it.
The author of the bill, Walt Rogers, (R) Cedar Falls, says he believes it will pass in the house by a slim margin. "I think it will be a close vote," Rogers says, "I think it kinda reflects the way Iowans feel about this."
The full House could debate the bill next week. A similar bill in the Democrat-controlled Senate is less likely to pass.
