The beautiful weather brought out people to area lakes.

Big Creek Lake just north of Des Moines was packed.

People could be seen boating, fishing, canoeing, and even wind surfing.

The beaches were also full, with families out enjoying the water for the first time this year.

The Big Creek Marina says at this time last year, they didn't even have the docks in the water yet.

Sunday had them scrambling to get all rental equipment out of storage and into the water.

“When you have almost 90 degrees on a day like this, people have cabin fever and want to come out.  We're just putting boats out as fast as we can put them out for people, but we have to get them out of storage.  People are having a good time and enjoying this weather,” says Marina owner Mark Crawford.

The Marina says they usually don't see the number of rentals they saw Sunday until Memorial Day weekend.
