Firefighters spent Monday night putting out a fire at a grain processing plant on the east side of Des Moines.

Crews were called out to the Archer-Daniels-Midland facility around 9:00 p.m. It’s located at 1901 Euclid Avenue, just west of I-235.

Firefighters say several of the grain bins were on fire. Crews had trouble getting water on the flames because the fire was at the top of the bins.

Firefighters say a faulty conveyor belt may have started the fire, but an exact cause has not been confirmed.

Everyone made it out safely.
