Altoona Police say a man may have been trying to abduct an 11-year-old boy Wednesday afternoon.

The boy was riding his bike home from Centennial Elementary School when the attempted abduction happened. He was in the 400 block of 15th St. SE when a man driving a van pulled up. The child says he stopped to tie his shoes and that’s when the man asked if he wanted to get into the van and go play all the X-Box games he wanted to play.

The child told him “no” and rode home and told his mother. She called Altoona Police.

Police say the man is described as a white male with tanned skin. He was wearing sunglasses and a hoodie.

The van was dark green and in the style of a delivery van.

If you have any information on the attempted abductor, you’re asked to contact Altoona Police at 967-5132.
