The commute home from work wasn’t easy Thursday, as police investigated a second case of suspicious powder at a state building this week.

The call came into police about 4:30 Thursday afternoon.  This time the scare was involving Iowa Workforce Development offices.

Several roads around the building at East 4th and Grand Avenue were blocked off during the evening commute.

The powder was discovered in a second floor bathroom and the area was quickly contained.

The all-clear went out after about an hour when firefighters determined the substance was baby powder.
