Des Moines Police have arrested a man they say confessed to burglarizing a Papa John’s restaurant.

Police say the burglary happened April 8th, when a man entered the Papa John’s at 4504 SW 9th through a window. He was able to get into the safe and left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Surveillance video from a nearby business helped police identify the suspect, 21-year-old Jacob Bellman of Des Moines. Police say Bellman confessed to the crime and said he used the safe’s code to steal the money, though he didn’t say how he got the code.

Bellman has been charged with third degree burglary.
