Iowa legislators have found something they can agree on — the session won’t end on time next Tuesday.

Tuesday is the last day legislators will receive their per diem pay and after that they are working for free. There is still much to be accomplished by lawmakers before the session can end.

No budget bills have been sent to the governor yet. The House still hasn’t begun debate on the Health and Human Services Budget. The Senate passed its version on Thursday.

The Senate still hasn’t passed a property tax reform bill and the two sides are still far apart on education reform as well.

There’s no debate scheduled for the House Friday.
