Davenport Police say more than a dozen people are facing charges in connection with a pharmacy break-in last fall.

Police arrested 14-people they say were involved in stealing $40-thousand dollars in prescription medications during a burglary.

Some of the suspects allegedly burglarized the pharmacy; others are accused of taking the stolen pills for their own use, as well as selling them.

One suspect who sold pills is now facing involuntary manslaughter charges after one person died from an overdose of pills taken from the pharmacy.

Police say pharmacy break-ins are on the rise.  In the last five years, the number of robberies has nearly doubled with more than six million pain pills stolen.
