Alliant Energy says they have more than 12 crews working to restore power in Creston.  Those crews are erecting new poles and putting up new wires.

The crews are working in the northwest part of town. That area was the hardest hit, with 35-40 poles that need replacing.

They estimate that it will take them until Tuesday to fully restore power.

On Sunday morning, 4,000 residents are without power. As of 3:30 p.m. 600 were still without power.

If you still don’t have power you’re urged to call 1-800-ALLIANT and report your outage.

Officials want to remind everyone to stay away from downed power lines as they could still be live and dangerous.

If you are running on a generator it’s important to make sure it’s installed correctly, and that your home isn’t connected to the grid.
