Iowa Republican Party leaders released plans Wednesday for multiple meetings in multiple towns to help correct what went wrong this past caucus night.
The party leadership declared Mitt Romney the caucus winner on January 3rd. Then two weeks later the certified vote showed Rick Santorum was the winner.
Party co-chair Bill Schickel admits caucus confusion caused some to call the Republican a fiasco.
The party has formed committees that will meet across the state to address how they release results information, vote counting, and volunteer training. They’ll draft recommendations before a May 30th meeting in Cedar Rapids.
The first meeting of the subcommittees takes place at the Ankeny DMACC campus April 26th.
