The trial of a Clear Lake man accused of trying to hire hit men to kill a teen who accused him of sexual assault has been set for the end of May.

Thirty-year-old Alan Cannon is charged with solicitation to commit murder, conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder. His trial is set for May 29th in Cerro Gordo County court.

Authorities say in December of 2011, Cannon offered two men money to kill a 16-year-old girl who accused him of sexually assaulting her. He is charged with third degree sexual abuse in that case and the trial date was continued to May 8th.

Cannon is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a bond of $240,000.
