Five Storm Lake college students were hospitalized after a science experiment made them sick.

A Buena Vista University spokeswoman says the students ingested caffeine as part of the experiment on Monday. All five were hospitalized that night but should be released Wednesday.

The university isn’t releasing any information about the experiment but says all physical activity research involving humans are now suspended.

The professor in charge of the experiment is also on paid leave while the university investigates.
