Local law enforcement agencies are banding together Friday night to keep the roads safe.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the Central Iowa Traffic Safety Task Force and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau have scheduled a traffic enforcement project for northern Polk County.

Authorities will be on the look-out for impaired drivers. They’ll also be watching for proper seatbelt use.

Drivers are being encouraged to make sure they have arranged for a sober driver if they plan on attending any event where they will consume alcohol.
