The Animal Rescue League hopes a new partnership helps more lost pets find their way home.

The ARL in Des Moines say it gets up to 50 animals a day. While some are given up by owners, many are strays.

Now the ARL is teaming up with the Pet Project Midwest. That means all strays at the ARL are added to the website iowapetalert.com.

If the pets are not reclaimed, they’ll enter the ARL’s adoption program.

The website will make looking for lost pets much easier than before. Iowans can also sign up to get alerts for lost pets in their area.
