Wednesday, the second trial of Matthew Elliott ended the same way the first one did: with a guilty verdict.

A Polk County jury again convicted Elliott of child endangerment causing death and will injury, Wednesday.

Elliott was accused of killing infant Alexis Gilbert in 2008.  The little girl was in Elliott’s care when she died.

Elliott was given a second trial on appeal after his attorney argued improper testimony was allowed in the first trial.

Elliott will resume serving his 35 year prison sentence.
