A Jefferson man is behind bars after being accused of seriously hurting his eight-week-old son.

Patrick Thompson faces charges of child endangerment causing serious injury. The investigation began in January when Thompson’s son started having a seizure.

At the hospital, doctors discovered bleeding on the brain, hemorrhaging of one of his eyes and bruises on his chin. Doctors say the injuries were caused by child abuse.

Police say Thompson admitted to squeezing his son “too hard” and further stated that it was his fault that his son was in the hospital.
