The Des Moines Airport continues to grow, increasing the number of seats from 10,000-14,000 in just the last few months.

It's a boom in business that U.S. Airways wanted to be a part of.

With the addition of the airline adding direct flights to Washington D.C. Thursday, and Charlotte last month, the increase in options is going to help keep passengers here and the rates they pay competitive.

The Des Moines Airport says they're doing extremely well compared to other airports across the country and the airline carriers are starting to notice.

U.S. Airways isn't the only airline adding more business.  Southwest Airlines is coming to Des Moines in September with a flight to Chicago.

And an increase in flight options means passengers*should see a decrease in fairs.
