GOV VS. DEER: Branstad Fine After SUV Hits Deer

No one was hurt when Gov. Terry Branstad’s SUV hit a deer Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. on I-35 in Story County. Gov. Branstad, Lt. Gov. Reynolds, an aide and a state trooper were in the vehicle.

The deer was killed in the collision.

The accident put this sizeable dent in the front of the vehicle.
