A fourth grade photographer in Des Moines is getting national acclaim.

Hubbell Elementary student Kobie Long won a national outstanding interpretation award in photography from the national PTA.

Her photo, titled “scrambled students”, combines shots taken on the playground.

Kobie says she wanted to highlight the diversity in her school.  She’ll be awarded a medallion and $800 at a convention in California next month.
