A Pottawattamie County sheriff’s deputy made a huge drug bust Wednesday on I-80 in western Iowa.

Deputy Sheriff Brian Miller pulled over a truck driven by 63-year-old Mark Domreis from Aurora, Colorado for excessive speed. During the traffic stop Miller became suspicious Domreis was involved in criminal activity.

Domreis admitted to Miller that there was a large amount of marijuana under the bed cover of the truck. A patrol service dog was able to detect the presence of narcotics.

Authorities found several duffle bags and coolers with bags of marijuana in them. Officials say about 128 pounds of marijuana and about a half of a pound of amphetamines were seized.

Domreis was arrested and taken into custody. He has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver amphetamines, tax stamp violation,  and prohibited acts. He is being held in the Pottawattamie County Jail.
