An accident in northeast Iowa killed a man riding his bicycle.

The Iowa State Patrol says 47-year-old James Budde of Monona was riding his bike on county highway B-45 when a vehicle passing by hit him.

The impact threw Budde into a nearby ditch.  He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

Troopers have not yet said if charges will be filed against the driver.
