LIQUOR LICENSE: Gas Station Asks For Exception

The Des Moines city council will consider making an exception to the current moratorium on liquor licenses for convenience stores at its Monday night meeting.

The owner of the Super Stop BP gas station on Southeast 14th and Maury wants an exemption.  

Last month, the council decided to stop any more convenience stores from selling hard alcohol until June.
