Visitation services are being held Monday for a man killed in a double homicide last week.

The family of Robert Smoot is holding a visitation service from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.

Both services are taking place at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.

Smoot is survived by his wife, two step-children and his grandson.

Smoot was shot to death last week while working alongside Serif Hidic at trucking company LCS Logistics on Des Moines’ southeast side.

A former employee, Ronald Hawkinson, was arrested and charged with the murders. Police say Hawkinson was upset over a lawsuit Hidic had filed against him.
