The Des Moines Register is reporting that Superintendent Nancy Sebring's hasty exit from Des Moines Schools was due to the discovery of sexually explicit e-mails she'd sent from her school account.

School officials tell the Register that Sebring was using a school account during work hours to send the e-mails.

School board member Teree Caldwell Johnson tells the Register that Sebring immediately announced she was resigning after board members confronted her about the e-mails.

Sebring is set to begin work as Omaha's next superintendent in the fall.
