A little rain didn’t keep the crowds away at Glen Oaks Country Club for the final day for the Principal Charity Classic.

Sunday was military appreciation day at the course.  This is the second year the Classic has honored past and present members of the military.

This weekend, military families were invited to watch the pros free of charge.

At the 18th hole, men and women in uniform welcomed the players to the greens, and took turns playing caddy of sorts.

Scott Johnson with Wells Fargo says, “I think the military appreciation day is another way we’re utilizing the tournament to be a community event and it’s a wonderful opportunity for the entire community to come out and do many events.”

Organizers are still waiting on final attendance numbers, but expect that 1,000 military members and their families turned out this weekend.
