I-235 CRASH: Police Seek Public’s Help To Find Driver

Windsor Heights police are asking for the public’s help to find the driver of a car that caused an accident on I-235 Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. in the 6400 block of westbound I-235. Police say the driver of a maroon PT Cruiser sideswiped a Nissan Maxima, which then hit the side of a Ford Ranger pickup. The pickup rolled and the passenger had to be extricated from the cab. The driver and passenger were taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the the PT Cruiser did not stop.

Witnesses told police it appeared the driver of the PT Cruiser and the driver of the Nissan Maxima were racing and driving at a high rate of speed when the accident happened. Twenty-eight-year-old Lucas Isleman, the driver of the Maxima, was impaired at the scene and charged with OWI.

The driver of the PT Cruiser is described as a white male in his mid-20s with reddish-blonde-curly hair. The PT Cruiser will have damage to the passenger side of the vehicle because of the accident. It is also described as having a dent on the driver’s door and may have pink decals on the sides.
