LOCKDOWN OVER: Gang Fights At State Prison

A lockdown at the Anamosa State Penitentiary is over.

The Iowa Department of Corrections says operations returned to normal Monday, ending a lockdown that began Saturday.

Officials the lockdown was a safety measure put in place because of two altercations, one that involved several offenders. The altercations did involve gang members but no information on specific groups is being released.
