Urbandale police are cracking down on those who blow off illegal fireworks. 

Anyone caught with illegal consumer fireworks will be ticketed, charged with a misdemeanor, and will have to face a judge. "Zero tolerance." Officer Randy Peterson says, "We took this stance a couple of years ago after numerous citizens complaints and since then we've made it very clear that our police department has zero tolerance when it comes to fireworks."

Last year, Urbandale police ticketed five people for possessing illegal fireworks.
