Flags are being flown at half-staff Friday in honor of an Iowa airman killed during the Vietnam War.

Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Eilers of Tipton disappeared when his plane was shot down in Laos back in 1965. This April, investigators positively identified the crash site.

A memorial service is being held for Eilers in his hometown of Tipton Saturday.

Eilers was 27-years-old when he died.
