GAS PRICES: Iowa Enjoying Cheaper Pump Prices

The average price at the pump in Des Moines has gone down 14 cents since last year. A welcomed sight as the holiday travels approach.

The average in Des Moines stands at $3.35. That is 2 cents  cheaper than the state and national average of $3.37. Altoona was found to have the lowest prices with $3.09 a gallon

Cedar Rapids had an average of $3.36 per gallon, the Quad Cities came in at $3.41 per gallon, and Council Bluffs averages $3.24 per gallon.

These numbers will come as a relief to anyone traveling to and from the metro area.
