ATTEMPTED MURDER: Newton Woman Charged

A Newton woman is charged with attempted murder after shooting a man.

Police were called to 511 E 26th St. S on a report of a shooting Saturday morining. 

When police arrived, they found 35-year old Eric James.  James was lifeflighted to Methodist in Des Moines.  Police say he is in stable condition.

Jane Marie Shine (52) of Newton is charged with attempted murder, a class B felony and willful injury after shooting James.

Shine was booked into the Jasper County Jail.
