Des Moines' Miranda Leek is a medal contender at the Olympic Games.

Leek and the rest of the United States archery team met the media Tuesday in London.

The 19 year old Leek is a rising star in archery, and thanks to movies like Hunger Games, and Brave, the sport could break out.

Leek's love of archery started when her dad first put a bow and arrow in her hands here in Des Moines at age five.

She graduated last year from Dowling Catholic.
