The body of a Pella man who was believed to have drowned in Lake Red Rock Sunday has been recovered.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 25-year-old Derek Long was discovered Wednesday morning by a woman walking her dog. Officials say they were called just before 6:30 a.m. by a woman who lived at Dutchman’s Landing south.

Long was last seen Sunday while trying to help his step son back to a pontoon he was floating away from.

Officials have been searching the lake since Sunday.
