RAGBRAI riders are dealing with another day of triple digit temperatures on the fourth day of their trek across the state.

Riders woke up in Webster City Wednesday and they’re headed 77 miles to Marshalltown, with stops in Jewell, Story City, and Zearing, to name a few.

Many got an early start in order to ride in the cooler temperatures of the morning. Some riders left Webster City as early as 4:00 a.m.

We talked to riders saying they had to hit the road to get to Marshalltown before triple digits set in.

One rider says this is her first RAGBRAI and, it was hotter than she planned. She was one of many that had to take a break Tuesday.

“This has definitely been an experience with the heat. I actually sagged one day so I could make it the rest of my time here. Yesterday my legs felt fine, but I started to feel nauseous from the heat and ended up having to stop a lot at the end,” says Jess Witty from St. Louis.
