RAGBRAI wasn’t the only two-wheel ride in the state Tuesday. More than 100 motorcyclists rode to honor Vietnam veterans.

NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace was the lead escort for “The Wall That Heals” Tuesday afternoon. The replica of the Vietnam memorial in Washington, D.C. was hauled from Des Moines to the Iowa Speedway in Newton.

“I love the veterans. I love the speedway.  I love motorcycles and this just makes a lot of sense,” said Wallace. “It’s something to remember.  It’s a way for us to never forget.”

The wall will be on display at the Iowa Speedway through Saturday.
