One person was taken to the hospital early Thursday morning after an accident in West Des Moines.

Police were called to the intersection of Jordan Creek Parkway and Mills Civic just before 2 a.m.

Witnesses say a car traveling north on Jordan Creek ran a red light and hit a truck traveling east on Mills Civic.

Both vehicles spun out and came to rest on Mills Civic.

The female driver of the car was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

She was cited for failure to stop.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
