West Des Moines Police say a softball game got out of hand this weekend and ended with one arrest.

Fifty one-year old Thomas Kilgin is charged with simple assault.  According to the Des Moines Register, Kilgin complained an umpire was moving too slow causing games at Holiday Park to fall behind schedule.

Kilgin is accused of shoving an umpire into a wall following the games.

Police arrested Kilgin at his home Saturday night.

The event was hosted by the West Des Moines Girls Softball Association.
