The First Lady, Michelle Obama joined 54 kids from across the US for the first ever Kids’ State Dinner.

The kids are all winners of the “Affordable and Delicious Original Lunchtime Recipe” contest using the new nutritional guidelines.

The kids ranged in ages from 8-12.  One Iowa winner, 8-year-old Ajani Patton-Imani of Des Moines won her spot at the dinner with a corn wrap recipe.

They're all winners of the "affordable and delicious original lunchtime recipe" contest, using the new nutritional guidelines.

President Obama also joined the First Lady in welcoming the winners to the White House.

The first lady told kids, “this is all for you, reporters from everywhere, they're just everywhere. They never show up like this for something we do. This is the hottest ticket at the White House right here because of all of you. And I am so proud of you, we are all so proud of you. The President of the United States is so proud of you. It's so cool
