A year ago an accident critically injured a Waukee teen. This past weekend she went back to the hospital to thank the doctors and nurses who helped save her life.

Taylor Hale was in critical condition after she was thrown from the hood of a car last year. She spent more than 40 days in the hospital before making a full recovery.

On Sunday, Hale visited Blank Children’s Hospital to thank the doctors and nurses who helped her bounce back

“We went and got some treats for my doctors and therapists who helped me get through the process of being alive and staying alive, otherwise we’ll stop by every once in a while just to say hi,” said Taylor.

The doctors have cleared Hale to get back into cheerleading. Hale says she’s looking forward to trying out for the basketball and wrestling cheerleading squads.
