The Johnston School District is looking to “plan B” after the public voted “no” on a bond referendum that would have paid for a new high school.

More than 4,800 voters went to the polls Tuesday.

The district says it’ll now consider adding modular classrooms to the high school.  Portable buildings are already used at two elementary schools and the middle school.

The Johnston School Board will meet soon to discuss other options – including the possibility of putting the referendum before voters again, in six months.
