FARM BILL: Iowa Rep Getting Signatures

Representative Bruce Braley says he’s more than a quarter of the way towards getting enough signatures to force a vote on the farm bill in the U.S. House.

Braley introduced a discharge petition Thursday.  If he can get 218 House members to sign it, the Farm Bill would have to be brought up for a vote.

Braley says he’s getting signatures from both parties on the petition.  But that doesn’t include two Iowa Republicans.

The current Farm Bill expires at the end of this month.
