A new Des Moines company is gaining momentum for its efforts to help needy pups.

It's called BOGO Bowl and it's in a building just south of Gray's Lake on Thomas Beck Road.

BOGO means “buy one-give one”.  You buy a bag of dog food for your dog and the company gives a free bag to a shelter.

The company says the second bag stays in the community the buyer lives in.

There are seven flavors of premium dog food and the food is sold in 20 and 55 pound bags.

You can buy the bags of dog food online at bogobowl.com.
