It’s been one year since a Des Moines man was gunned down in front of an east side bar, and the killer has still not been arrested.  Now, the victim’s family is asking the public for help.

A lot has changed over the past year.  The former Courtside Bar on Des Moines east side is now a doughnut shop.  But one thing remains the same; the person who killed 32-year old Marion Harris on the bar's patio last year is still free.  Harris leaves behind eight children, including a baby who was born after Harris' death.

"That's hard.” The baby’s mother, Terresha Young says,  “That's actually hard because I know when she gets older she's going to be asking questions."

"Justice needs to be served.” Harris’ mother, Joyce Webster says, “They're walking around still living and breathing while my son's dead for no reason"

Police say this is still an active investigation. They’re asking anyone who may have witnessed the murder to call Crime Stoppers at (515) 223-1400.
