Some students in Marshalltown got an unexpected day off from school Wednesday.

According to the Times-Republican newspaper, teachers at Hoglan Elementary School sent students home because of bedbugs found in some of the classrooms.

District spokesman Jason Staker says the rooms will be inspected and cleaned. He says students are expected to be back in school Thursday.
